Pelham Parkway Nursing Home

This nursing home is not for when you are a fragile person. My mother 93 refused to eat,she has psy issues.After the 4 day of not eating she became unresponsive not talking. Her friend visited and saw this,call me, I called spoke with the nursing supervisor " I said my mother has a change in her condition can you transfer her to the hospital" he said I can"t do that only the doctor can. I said no problem I will call 911 which I did and she went to the hospital. If he had said let me assess her condition and I will call you back that would have been ok but he did not do that.If I did not intervene my mother would not be alive today. When you put your love one in a nursing home you must check on them because when their is a down hill change in their condition the staff will not always seek proper action which will leave your love one 6 feet under. I am sorry if this often any one but this is the truth.
