Second bad experience, tried to get a broken front wheel fixed,
the assistant proposed the correct repair, the shop owner tried to make me buy things not necessary.

Together with the previous bad experience in refusing to repair a simple
broken brake cable and trying to convince me to buy a new bike i cannot recommend this shop anymore at all !

I grew up riding a bike every day and repairing my bikes myself in Germany so know what needs to be done or not !

This will be brief because I stopped in to buy a couple of inner tubes for my tires. But, the older gentleman, who was wearing a bow-tie, was very helpful, although he is a little snarky in a fun way. The prices were not too bad for the UES location but I have not had any repairs done here.

Also, the shop does not have a minimum for credit and debit cards.

In light of some negative feedback on this site, it was with some trepidation I hired three road bikes from Roger in Pedal Pusher. What I have to report is quite different to what I feared might be the case.

I was travelling from Ireland with my sons, and due to forecasted bad weather, our bike hire plans needed to be changed at short notice. We also had nowhere to store bikes in our hotel, so again we needed to alter our plans. None of this was a problem with Roger, who I found to be incredibly accommodating and understanding. The bikes were not the latest models for sure, but they were in good condition and mechanically worked excellently. All in all my experience was very positive, and on this basis I can absolutely recommend a bike hire from Roger. Further his store is a treasure trove for cycling enthusiasts (there is an awesome pantographed Pinarello bars & stem, with Campag mod-1980s SR levers), and across the street is a great deli/café!
