Pasta Dal Cuore

Homemade pasta - absolutely delicious! BYO is also a huge plus.

The Tagliatelle Bolognese is my favorite. Looking forward to trying the other dishes!

House-made pasta and sauce and it's all very good. Also BYO, which is nice for saving some money. They also have pasta and sauces that you can buy at the counter and take home to cook yourself.

Pasta dal Cuore makes their own pasta. You have the option to buy some to take home, or you can dine in the restaurant. The store is in front and the cafe-style seating is in the back, so don't get confused - you're in the right place! My boyfriend, his family, and I came in on a Thursday at around 7:30 or so. There weren't much people dining there and there were a few people here and there coming in to buy pasta. It seems the latter is the more popular option.

Though they do have quite a few selections for dine-in. I went with Maltagliati Pugliesi (thin pasta strips served with Italian sausage, broccoli rabe, red pepper flakes, pecorino). I really liked this! The pasta was similar to pappardelle, which I love - so that might explain why I liked the dish so much. All of the ingredients went well together and it wasn't greasy at all (like any pasta dishes with sausage tend to be). We also had an order of their meatballs, which was excellent as well. I definitely needed this to fill me up as there wasn't enough sausage in my pasta.

The service is kind of slow even though there weren't many customers. I think next time, I'll just try their fresh pasta to go.

Tip - BYOB. We brought a bottle of wine (I don't think they charge a corkage fee).

This place is wonderful. The fresh pasta for sale is a requisite go-to if you live in Jersey City and are planning on having pasta at home, but the eat-in experience is fantastic as well. Extremely friendly service, great menu, and heart-meltingly good entrees.
