So after getting my prescription from my doctor I decided to call a couple of pharmacies to ask about their prices. I'm not stingy by all means, but when the medicine costs a few hundreds to buy then I have to compare prices. The first few calls to the pharmacies took 1-2 minutes to get me the prices, but this one, oh, it was horrible.
As soon as the girl on the phone spoke, I knew it was all trouble. She demanded, yes, demanded, that I give her my full name and date of birth to get me the price. Even though I made it clear to her I was just asking about the price of the medicine, she wouldn't help me unless I cave in. So, she was speaking with Mr. John Mark, born 01/01/1990. Gotta be more clever with my fake identity I guess.
She kept putting me on hold for a few minutes, then comes back asking for more information. She even wanted to know my prescription number, and perhaps later the size of my underwear. Mind you, all the other pharmacies just took the medicine name, quantities, and dosage, and just told me how much the cost is.
After a few more holds, someone else spoke to me. He said he wouldn't tell me the prices over the phone, and that I need to show up with my prescription. I'm sorry, I didn't know I was asking for illegal drugs?! I wanted to explain that I live far, and it's not feasible or sensible to come all the way and perhaps they don't have the medication or it's a few hundreds more expensive than other pharmacies. He cut me off with a high tone. When I requested to speak to the manager as he was not professional, he told me HE was the manager! And they take "pride" in that the pharmacy is "locally owned and operated." Hmmm.
So, I told him I'm going to write negative reviews about his establishment, and I'm taking my business elsewhere. I hung up, and continued my search to find my medication else where.
I'm not surprised people with the other reviews you read online. You do get treated like you're a criminal looking for narcotics haha.
