My 3 star review reflects the quality, originality, and flavor of the food. As other reviewers have noted the newness of the restaurant means the staff is still going through growing pains. Servers seemed uncertain of which dishes were supposed to be for what table throughout the night. After our naan and chutney sampler, we waited over 45 minutes for our small plates to arrive. Considering that one was a cold dish it seemed to be a miscommunication from the kitchen. They did comp us a couple of drinks which was justified. The chat small plate, fried squash blossoms, and pepper prawns were all excellent. We will give it another chance for better service execution on a future visit. We miss the old Tabla so hope Paowalla sticks around.

My husband and I went to Paowalla on Friday evening for an early dinner after work. The restaurant was surprisingly full at an early hour. I started with the cucumber cocktail which was the perfect blend of refreshing and spicy. We shared a bunch of small plates so we could try more dishes and they did not disappoint. We ordered 6 small plates between the 2 of us and we were very stuffed at the end. We started with the bacon naan (yes bacon baked into naan!) and the fries with chili, coconut and coriander (I think those were the spices)- these were both delicious. We also had the squash blossom pakoras with goat cheese (good but not great, slightly soggy), chili chicken (so good and spicy) and an egg dish with coconut (amazing!). We also opted for the paneer special which had a corn base and it was so good, especially with the naan. The highlight of the night was when chef Floyd Cardoz came over and chatted with us. He is very nice and humble and we told him how great everything was. We will definitely be back and next time we will order a few less dishes so we can try dessert!!

Great food served by knowledgeable staff that can help you pick the rights things on the menu as you navigate the deliciousness. The breads are awesome as is the Skate in the banana leaf. Add some fries with a crazy mix of spices that will make you go for another round. Finish it off with some vanilla bean kulfi and your evening will be a success. Enjoy! You'll definitely see me here again.

Food Delicious. Service was something left to be desired. Considering Chef Cardoz's culinary resume I was somewhat surprised to see such a lack of structure. After waiting 15 minutes for our waitress to take our order, another 40 minutes passed before we received the bottle of wine we ordered. We were also given the wrong bill twice before the manager pulled up the correct one. The waitress also questioned whether or not we had ordered 2 bottles of wine. Our one bottle ordered came out so late that we didn't even have the chance to finish it, let alone order a second one. There was a swarm of employees but no focus. Will let them sort out the kinks and give the team about 2 months before returning. There is much much more on the menu that I must try. Based on last night's experience though, I must say I am relieved they are not partaking in the "hospitality included" program. The quality of service, along with the excess of potent lemon chutney dolloped on the chicken tikka, left a very sour taste in my mouth. FOOD - 4 stars / SERVICE - 1 star
