Palace Cafe

Horrible customer service. The Hispanic/Spanish lady who works behind the counter is extremely rude! I ordered an omelet with mushrooms and I ended up finding corn, onions, chicken, peas, and so on. They do not wash their grill or organize their food at all! She is not polite at all, banging on the table while calling me. DO NOT COME HERE EVER!!!

Good food and okay price but the staff gives the impression they are doing me a favour. Very impersonal.

Owner is a delight and I trust the food to be well prepared.

Good food and good interior design

We are visiting family in NY ( we live in Houston TX) and came to Palace Cafe for brunch. There were no printed menus, just an electronic one, so we has to see the menu that way. If we missed something, we had to wait for the whole menu cycle to start over. The restaurant was not overly crowded but it seemed like there was only one employee there who was taking orders. This employee could now explain some of the things on the menu and just seemed overall annoyed that we were asking any questions at all. It seemed like we were expected to know everything about this establishment. Even if we were local Flatbush residents, I assume polite and courteous service would be given. While we were ordering, another customer rudely interrupted and instead of asking her to wait, the employee left us waiting to take care of her. The customer glared at us and said " Do you have a problem" as she gave her order.
I gave this restaurant 2 stars because when we finally got our food, it was very good ( with generous portions). Also the physical space of the cafe was nice- kind of like a diner.
I noticed on the way out that there was a shelf with sefarim, maybe so people could learn while they eat. Palace Cafe needs to remember though that " derech eretz kadma letorah". They need to improve on their customer service and respect for all customers.
