Overpeck County Park

Nice area with plenty of parking and activities. Tennis courts basket ball courts kayaking.

If you live in Bergen County, you'll quickly forget that you're actually in Bergen County when visiting this park. I don't know of anywhere else in the area that you can rent a kayak and row around the calm creek. Right across the bridge there is an equestrian center where you can ride horses. This park is a little slice of heaven in the heart of a stressful place to live. Plenty of people playing sports, fishing, and even taking part in fundraisers/events on the weekends. This is one place where residents can easily say wasn't a waste of money...which is a rarity around here.

Great open space and various activities throughout the park available. There are trails for bike riders, walkers/runners, roller bladers. There is a section for you to rent canoes or kayaks. Basketball courts, tennis courts, dog park. Football field and baseball fields, as well as a big playground for kids. The trails are about 5 miles if you do the entire park so it's definitely great for a work out. And because the park is so big there is never an issue with parking.

Just 60 acres shy of Central Park in NYC, this place is more like a resort than a park. When I stay close by for business with Samsung, I go there daily, as the south entrance is just a few hundred feet from my hotel.

The walking path is smooth enough to roller blade. The bike lanes are just as well kept. Soccer, softball, tennis... they have it all. Even a stage for small musical gatherings. I have spent many early mornings and late evenings taking in the views, out on the small dock over the lake and walking there with my dogs.

You must visit when you are in the area. You won't be disappointed.

Went there for the first time today and it was absolutely amazing. Literally the most beautiful park I've ever been to in NJ. Clean, spacious, lots of places to sit, so many play areas for the kids. There were a lot of people but it didn't seem crowded because there are different zones and everything is spread out. My kids had a blast. We can't wait to go back!
