My daughter had Molly this summer and she is a great teacher. She is positive and encouraging. We enjoyed her. Trish knows children and very good at honing in on their talents while helping them improve in other skills.The kids look forward to their lessons

My son is six, and tends to be a whirlwind of strong will and creative thought...in other words, stubborn and an inadvertent troublemaker. What I love about our experience with Olive Tree is that they are able to draw out of him what he loves about music, rather than forcing him into a box. Just the other day, he walked into his lesson crying, and I thought for sure it was going to be a half hour of him sulking and refusing to pick up his violin. Instead, Tricia talked to him, got him talking about what he's best at (instead of what he's not so good at) and suddenly the violin was in his hands. When she found out he was dying to play "rock music" she explained how there are rock violins, asked him his favorite song, figured out the notes on the violin, and spent the rest of the lesson teaching that to him. He left with a huge smile on his face, and was excited to go home and practice. That is truly the art of teaching at work, and I couldn't be more pleased. It takes a very special talent to do that. Definitely exceeded expectations. I had been looking for a guitar teacher for my 15 year old son since moving to the area. When I called Olive Tree, I spoke to Trish and was immediately struck by the personal interest she took in my son and what kind of teacher would be a good match for him. Other places treated me very impersonally, so this was great. I explained to Trish what we were looking for, and she matched us up with Dan. It has been a great fit--our son loves his lessons, and has learned so much. Dan has a very positive approach, and has a good mix of teaching both what my son wants to learn and guiding him in the things he needs to learn. It has been a great experience and I highly recommend Olive Tree, and especially Dan as a teacher.

I had been searching for a violin teacher in the Morristown area for several months prior to finding the Olive Tree Music Studio website. My 9 year old daughter elected to discontinue piano lessons (with another instructor) in favor of violin. This lead us to Trish during the summer of 2010. I am amazed at how quickly she was actually able to play music as opposed to dissonance. Trish uses positive reinforcement to nurture and encourage her students. She is enthusiastic and truly loves what she does. In three short months with Trish my daughter has made tremendous improvement. I am so pleased with her teaching style that I have enrolled my other child here as well.

My 11 year old daughter started studying cello with Trish this summer and her playing has taken off like I never dreamed. Trish is a bundle of focused positive energy who enthusiastically helps my child work towards her potential. I rarely have to ask "did you practice today?" and she recently told me that she wished she could have lessons every day! What more can you ask for?
