Obstetrics & Gynecologic Associates: Lieblich Richard M MD

I had an overall positive experience with Dr. Lieblich during the routine exam. He was very professional and spent a lot of time answering my questions (would give just the exam itself 4.5 stars). But, I was a bit annoyed when another patient who came in after me was called in ahead of me after being several hours late for her own appointment. Ended up seeing the doctor 15 minutes past my appt time as a result - no big deal though. The reason I am giving this office a 2 star review is because of the questionable customer service after my appt. I had an issue with my prescription - the insurer refused to cover the prescribed brand contraceptive so I needed the Doctor's office to call in a prior authorization. I had to literally talk the office rep through the process 3 times before it was submitted correctly and when it finally went through, it still got denied. At that point, it seemed like the office rep worked for the insurer rather than the Doctor (who should be an advocate for the patient not the insurer) as she tried to explain that I would have to switch to the insurer's preferred formulary drug. Unfortunately it didn't stop there. I asked to speak to the doctor to learn more about the difference in drug options and was never able to get a hold of the doctor. Apparently the receptionist took down the wrong number on Monday so the doctor left a message with the wrong person. I called again on Tuesday, and still no call back. Currently waiting for a call back on Wednesday (after calling the office 7 times in total!!!). I understand that mix-ups happen but the lack of remorse, concern and consideration on the part of the office reps really left a bad impression. I will not be returning to this office which is a shame because Dr. Lieblich was actually quite good.
