Nyc Bicycle Shop (Staten Island)

Stay away from this shop please!

For us residents of the north shore of Staten island, this shop is convenient. That's where the positives end!

I took my rear wheel in for a tube replacement and came out spending 90, for what I would find out a few weeks later, was a 40 dollar tire. Moreover, at the time I bought that tire that manufacturer had a two for one deal going.

Just a couple of weeks ago I took my entire bike back to this shop for a rear wheel replacement, which I new would cost about 125. They pointed out a few more "issues" that needed attention that would bring my bill up to about 300 with the replacement of three major parts. At this point I left this store.

I took the bike back to the shop I bought it at originally in new jersey and explained the entire ordeal. Even they said this shop was bogus and I should steer clear at all costs. They suggested a simple chain replacement and the new wheel. The simple truth is that a great bike shop will never suggest replacing parts until it is necessary.

Steer clear and take the extra 15 minute ride to Bennett's on Jewett near Forest Avenue.

They want to charge 75 to assemble a single speed pre assembled bike and Bennett's charges a flat 40 for the same service. NYC bicycle shop is a rip off.

I am disabled and need a crutch. The people in the store were very nice spent hours with me setting the bike up to to my needs. I believe the trike I bought is of good quality and I'm looking forward to using it Thank u guys, u are the best.

A great shop, the owner and the staff are very knowledgeable, patient and pleasant. My purchase experience was pleasant and informative, and I was totally satisfied.

This shop is the best on Staten Island!! There is no other mechanic like Carlos and the owner Ashkin and Jenny know their stuff too. So far i've brought three bikes there and after they were fixed had no other problems so to all those complaining about rudeness and steep prices, you make no sense. High end bikes are gonna cost a lot and come with extra costs and if you want high end parts and permanent reliable repairs go to this bike shop. You wont be disappointed.

First I would like to thank my neighbor Ed Arso who when the chain snapped simply form to much riding he patiently helped me feed in two and a half lengths of new stainless chain, I am still learning bike mechanics. After a terrible field test the new chain was skipping so bad I managed to get to the NYC BICYCLE SHOP

they worked with me for several hours and not only diagnosed the problem but came up with some very good creative ideas. The rear cassette had to go it was as chewed up by the old chain. They suggested removing the two grip shifts and adding small handles bars. Amazing the machine now works like a charm and the bike handles much better.
I would also like to thank Pete Lang for his input on this one of a kind hot rod bike. The input of several enlightened bike folk as served to bring this design to a working full-blown format simply amazing.
They were patient ,professional and very creative,old school!!!!
