Had a classic margarita, and it's pretty good. Service is pretty slow, but at least it's with a smile. Cash only.

1st impression: When I came here, I made a reservation prior to coming here. I wasn't able to be seated inside the restaurant because they said it was already booked for the game. However, when passers-by came in to be seated, they were seated inside.
Food: It was very salty... the bread itself was super salty.
Service: Slow...I had to ask for my check 3 times.

We typically go to the one in the West Village but with a large group for dinner I thought we tried the East Village location.
The vibe of the two can't be more different. West Village mellow low key where the East Village was loud and jam packed with hipster Twilight watching age group. It also seems this location is popular with the birthday crowd as many of the groups there were for birthdays (we were also). What also the West Village doesn't have is the strobing lights and music blaring, "Tanti auguri a te, Tanti auguri a te
Tanti auguri..." every 20 minutes. It is also amazing to see how enthusiastic the servers are for each one like it was the first each time.
The simple menu and food is consistent with the other also. The pizza was delicious and pasta cooked just right. We were pretty hungry that night and ended up ordering two pizzas! The desserts is usually a weak spot but here it is just as good. The pistachio panna cotta was creamy smooth and the tiramisu had the right pick me up.
The decision here is just which location as the food is good in both. Do you want the laid back quite atmosphere of the West Village or the 'Tanti augruri...' every 30 minutes. Each has its spot.

We've been twice, recently. we're attracted by the (available) gluten-free menu -- I start serious sneezing after eating wheat, rye, or barley. It's also in a location with a lot of good attractions -- theaters and playhouses. GREAT gluten-free pizza crust and just the right oil balance in the pie. My wife loves the whole wheat pasta. Good service both times, by Italian nationals. We live both in Boston and NYC and try to get out on the town when in New York.
