Reviews to Num Pang Sandwich Shop
If you're a fan of Vietnamese-style sandwiches, this is your place. Although Num Pang is a chain, the owners have found a formula that seems to maintain quality across locations. In part, this is because of the lovely simplicity of the menu options and the use of condiments to convey flavor.
This location is part of the larger food court, so more of a counter than an actual shop. Probably because of this, there is sometimes a slightly smaller menu than at other Num Pangs, but you'll still find plenty of choices, including seasonal items.
The bread is baked daily and warm, so as fresh you could want, and there are decadent ingredients on offer, such as pork belly. For the "diet" version of that one, go for the pulled pork (which is actually hardly dietetic). My only minor complaint is that the garnishes are a bit sparse compared to the more authentic versions I've sampled, but this is still a great quick work lunch option.
A quick note on my rating scale: 5 stars = exceptional food & service; 4 stars = excellent food & service; 3 stars = decent to good (top-of-the-line for fast service restaurants); 2 stars = mediocre; 1 star = not recommended.

This place has really gone down the toilet since it first opened in Brookfield Place. I would always get the pork belly sandwich, and what used to be a delicious sandwich with a generous helping of flavorful pork belly is now a total letdown. The bread isn't as good, no attempt was made to toast it nor remotely it warm up. The "pork belly" was a tiny slab of mostly fat, and it was thrown together without any care. Service was awful and they're in violation of NYC law which requires providing tap water to customers claiming "they're out of cups." What a joke.

The food is ok. The skirt steak salad was good, but only came with a few small pieces of steak, which was not really with the amount paid. The coconut tiger shrimp are tasty. The noodles in the noodle bowl and cold thin white noodles, so if you want something warm, do not get those

I remember having one of their sandwiches during the Zagat promotions. I was really hungry and there was a free Num Pang sandwich waiting for me to devour it. It was a really big sandwich which I believed I could have saved half for dinner. I enjoyed the layout of the seating area. Also it was great to know that I could go online as I ate.
