I had an appointment at the Nu Image 12 Skincare and Wellness Spa on April 20, 2015. Since I hate paying full price for a place I'm trying out for the first time, I purchased a voucher on Amazon Local for the 60-minute Swedish massage, 10-minute reflexology treatment, and the 45-minute facial. My review will be step-by-step from the moment I got off the bus to the moment I walked out the door. FYI: The address is 9 Crotty Avenue, Yonkers.

Location:
This spa is conveniently/inconveniently located around the Empire City Casino (on the opposite side of the highway, south side of the I85). The reason I say conveniently/inconveniently is because it is super easy to find. I took the 7 bus to the Yonkers Avenue/Central Park Avenue stop and only had to walk about five blocks to Crotty Avenue (the building is right on the corner). The inconvenient part is that the windows are not soundproof (which is probably typical in and around NYC) and there is a fair amount of noise outside that you can hear in the room (not knocking them for it, it wasn't a huge problem for me; if that's a problem for you, well, now you know). It is on the third floor and you have to go up the stairs. It didn't seem to be disability accessible; I didn't see an elevator.

Decor/Appearance/Cleanliness:
For the decor/appearance, considering it is a spa, it isn't the MOST inviting spa I've ever seen (it looks outdated). The rug looks like it needs to be changed though. Please take this section with a grain of salt because this might be a landlord issue and might be out of the owner's control or maybe not in the budget so I can understand to some degree but I think the rug is doable. The bathroom while small, was clean (meaning I felt comfortable enough to sit on the toilet and do my business); it is definitely cleaned daily. Walls and ceilings need to be updated (again, might be out of the owner's control). The beds were clean to me; another reviewer claims the sheets aren't changed between customers but I didn't grill the place like that. Hopefully she is wrong which I highly think she is. I GIVE THEM AN A++ FOR EFFORT. It looks like they tried to work with what they have, they have pictures/art on the walls, a nice and comfortable reception area. Bottom line is you won't feel like you can't sit anywhere or like if you can't touch the door knobs or something, but it is outdated.

Customer Service:
AMAZING!! Hands down! They make up for a lot of things with their amazing customer service. If this is a strategy that the owner took to distract customers from the little negative details, then she NAILED it. The staff, they are so welcoming and friendly; you feel like you're talking to friends. Sasha and Jeffrey, if you're reading this, thank you for such a pleasant encounter. So nice, genuine and caring; Jeffrey even gave me a big, wonderful hug before I left and Sasha was a doll from the beginning (she prepared a hot tea for me after I got in, soaked and cold from the rain and made sure I was comfortable the entire time). I was a little surprised by the owner though; I was in the reception area and she just smiled and said hello but didn't introduce herself. I just figured she probably has a lot on her mind with her product line (which is great btw; I have sensitive skin and no allergic reaction whatsoever).

Massage/Facial:
Okay, now to the good stuff. I loved, loved, loved the Swedish massage by Sasha. The girl has skills. Perfect pressure, technique and she took her time and made sure I was comfortable the entire time. She got rid of three knots that I had around my neck with a roll and twist of the fist; I'm telling you she has skills and you can tell she is professionally trained to do this. Jeffrey did my facial using Tanya's products and he also rubbed my traps with very good pressure. My face feels clean, smooth and light; never felt lighter around my face.

Bottom Line: I will be returning and I recommend you try it out, you definitely won't regret it to say the least. I was on no sleep (and very tired) and after the massage I felt very energized.

I got a facial there with Tanya,the owner, and I enjoyed it so much I recommenced my mom to go. Such a relaxing,comfortable,clean environment.I am going back for a massage.

Great atmosphere! Got a Swedish Massage by Tanya, she is so professional and friendly. the massage was very relaxing and perfect. Had a Facial by Rosanne... My very first great one ever. Ive got horrible ones at other places.The place is really pretty and cozy, and the customer service is exceptional. I booked my next appt. on the same day! Keep it up!
