Reviews to Notchview Pediatrics
My newborn daughter went to notch view for her first four months. DO NOT TAKE YOUR NEWBORN HERE. THEY DO NOT EXAMINE THEM PROPERLY. she was seen by four separate doctors. A different a doctor every time she went (and even a different doctor for a next day follow up appointment after being very sick which makes zero sense). I switched to a different pediatrician (thank goodness) and immediately my new pediatrician noticed my daughter had a stiff neck and needed physical therapy. I called notchview asap and they insisted that it must have happened after her last appointment (which is impossible) she was seen by FOUR separate doctors and none of them took the time to check her neck which is absolutely ridiculous. I don't recall even seeing one of them try to turn her head whatsoever. If I hadn't switched doctors, who knows how bad it could have gotten. Also the women behind the desk have no problem talking badly about the parents of patients after they leave right in front of everyone and they also gave me no warning on not taking my daughters insurance once she was covered and than were extremely rude to me after. Horrible experience over all.

Started at Notchview in the 80's as a kid and now bring my son there. Great service and always helpful. It's incredibly important to have knowledgable and experienced doctors who have seen everything---and in that regard they exceed expectations.

My family and I just moved to Clifton from Jersey City and we were hoping to have a good experience with this practice. We unfortunately did not have a good experience. The office staff was rude on the phone when I made the appointment. That should have been a red flag. Once we arrived none of the staff greeted us with a smile. None of the staff was polite or engaging even with our son or anyone else’s child for that matter. Frankly, that is creepy for an office that should be catering to children.
Our 18-month-old son was weighed and measured by a non-engaging staff member who then told us to leave his clothing off and walked out of the room saying the doctor would be with us shortly. After fifteen minutes of our son wiggling around from my lap to my husband’s lap, clad only in a diaper, we decided to abruptly cancel our appointment.
When we told the staff we were greeting with two unfortunate statements: “Yous guys are next” and “Whatever”. Very awkward. As we were exiting I mentioned their service was very bad.
We certainly will not be returning to this practice. I felt I should warn other parents who are new to the area like us and not interested in bad service. They might obtain my co-pay, but they certainly shouldn’t get yours.

Nightmare. I was moving back to town and was looking for a pediatrician close to home. My girlfriend who works in a similar building told me to try them, as the location was ideal even though I had not heard anything about this so called practice. Luckily, my son's doctor visits in the past 3 years have been few and far between since I became a patient of Notchview. In that time, I kept hearing really bad reviews about their staff and doctors. I regret joining this practice immensely. Although I have had pleasant appointments with 1 or 2 doctors there, the rest conduct themselves in a 'TREAT THEM AND FLEET THEM' manner. It is awful how fast they are and how rushed you feel. The doctors are writing the prescriptions while you are still asking them questions. My son is a friendly boy and started to converse with the doctor, telling her about himself, and she actually walked out of the room. My son told the other doctor that his mommy was a nurse, and he replied with an 'I could care less sounding, Cool.' At least pretend that you give a hoot about what this child is saying even if you don't . The staff behave as though you are bothering them. Burned out and underpaid. I walked into my appointment after losing an entire night of sleep with a sick child, and felt as though I was interrupting the two secretaries having their morning 'coffee talk.' They actually waited to dot their sentences and finish what they were saying before they looked up and acknowledge that we were waiting. The first people you see when you enter an office are the front line, the most important impression you get when you visit an office, and these women were a deplorable representation of this doctor's office. There was no warmth, no smiles, no attention to my child or questions about how he was feeling, just private chatter amongst themselves over an insurance discrepancy. I looked at my father accompanying me on the visit and said in exasperation, you would think I am in the wrong office. The secretary actually started yelling over that. In front of my child and my 66 year old father. I told her I was really unhappy with the office due to certain doctors being too fast and that as a result of her misconduct, my decision to find another pediatrician with a reputable and excellent ranked practice was cemented. She looked up at me smugly and miserably and further antagonized me with, 'well, at least Dr. So and So won't be there.' I was shocked that I had now become embroiled in a catfight with an secretary who was 3 times my age in front of my sick child and father. Her unprofessionalism at her age was shameless. I was so embarrassed for this woman, but nonetheless felt the need to bring this to the doctor's attention who told me to speak to the office manager. Although the office manager acknowledged that the employee was wrong and spent the weekend calling her to explain her side of the story, she was a complete waste of time, offered no apology to me, and actually judged me on the phone, and told me it was unfortunate how we both acted when she wasn't even present at the time to draw such an inference about me. I was in complete disbelief and it became clear, that there is no real office structure there, and that they probably do lunch together on a weekly basis. Stay far away from these busy and rushed doctors and even farther from the catty women who run this office.
