North Shore University Hospital

Just about the most disfunctional institution I have ever dealt with. Shockingly disgusting facilities. Doctors take a week to call you back. Short tempered miserable staff. They sent us to collections 3 times for a $15 bill we were assured several times we didn't owe. I am truly offended by our experience. Every part of this Hospital from the parking to the cafeteria is shockingly unprofessional. Our insurance company had to scold a billing staff member to fix a mistake. When you're on hold for absurdly long phone waits they sell you on other services. The moment you walk into this facility you realize it's run by uncaring people. Stay very very very very far away from North Shore/LIJ/Lennox Hill hospitals. My only hope is the CEO, who makes 15mill a year has to be treated at his own hospital. But alas he probably knows enough to avoid it.

My wife and I checked in at the emergency services for a check up for a possible ectopic pregnancy. Within the hour, a health care professional performed a sonogram and confirmed the bad, unlucky news.

After meeting with an OBGYN, we were told that surgery was a must. We waited for several hours for the operating room, but the wait wasn't terrible, and we were glad that we didn't have to wait longer given the suddenness of our situation. While we waited, the nurses and patient coordinator were extremely polite and thoughtful, gave us gift bags (fleece, sleep mask, ear buds, etc.), and attended to us as needed.

All the doctors and other professionals we met (i.e, anesthesiologist, surgeon) were sensitive, kind, patient, and efficient.

My wife's operation went smoothly without any complications! Thank God! Thank the doctors!

In the recovery room, I was so grateful for the extra nurses and those on staff. They provided extra blankets, extra juices to drink, and showed great care and attention.

We find a hospital we are going to go to for the rest of our lives.

If your family member has Leukemia, Please don't go to this hospital. My father died here, I regret bringing him here. Most of the doctors and surgeons have no clue about what they're doing. They're always in a hurry to go to their private practices. All they see in a patient is how many experiments they can do and how much money they can make from the insurance companies.

Services outstanding highly qualified staff one of the best if not the best trauma center perfect and qualifying care I will definitely go back there for any major life threatening operation

Quick to throw you out without testing you if they suspect you don't have insurance or insurance info couldn't be processed right away. Ignore obvious signs of emergencies, take blood right away but won't send it to the lab.. just to bill you for it. Shove IV in your arm that they will never use, talk to you like your stupid and very careless. No bedside manor, very young doctors with attitudes and no experience, send you hone with the wrong prescriotion. I can go on and in.... all they care about is money.... yes the place looks noce, but that's about all.. this place will kill you!!!
