My son started at the Co-Op in the Tot Time program. Tot Time is a Mommy and Me program that enables parents to share the preliminary pre-school experience approximately one day a week for about an hour or so at a time. My son was probably 18 months when we started. We couldn't have been more thrilled, and obviously, so were many of the other parents. The majority of the children that attended Tot Time went on to the 2s and the 3s with my son. They are all now moving up to the 4s!!!!!! As a new mom and a new resident of North Haledon, it isn't exaggerating to say the school saved our lives! We did a lot of other programs, but nothing compared to the warmth and friendliness that I experienced from the teachers and parents at the Co-Op. My son has learned a great deal and I have been able to actively participate in that experience. The great thing too is that you can opt out of participating if you want to do so. You still gain the benefit of your child attending a nursery school as opposed to a daycare. For those that are interested in that type of nurturing environment, you should definitely check out the North Haledon Co-Op. You will be pleased to meet a variety of parents from different backgrounds, as well as teachers with tremendous gifts of empathy and nurturing, as well as excellent educational background. You won't be sorry!!!
