Went here with a large crowd on a week night. The service at first was delightful- we received delicious bread as well as olives & oil. We constantly had to ask for more water and refills while waiting almost 2 hours for our food to arrive. No apology was given and when the food arrived it was not as described in the menu. My veal was dry and vegetables less than appetizing. The only positive thing about the restaurant was the wine and cheese cake.
Rude service and will not be returning anytime soon.

I was in the area and checked Zagat reviews. Gave Nocello a try and was very pleased. Food was terrific. Service and decor were very good. We were short on time and did not order as much as normal but can't wait to go back for the full treatment.

This is one of our favorite restaurants. If you don't see something on the menu that you want, they will make what you want. Always a lot of choice and very well-prepared food. The owners are always on premises and are always gracious.

the clientele is composed (pre-theater) mainly of retirees, who obviously like their italian food the way it was in the 50's or 60's. not much has changed here, and if you're looking for something better or at least more unusual than you could make at home, this is not your place. that said, it's cozy, comfortable (seats are great), delicious bread and olive oil, and right next door to city center & carnegie hall.
