I love this place! The staff is always courteous and friendly. The selection is just what I look for in a little shop, no more, no less. I had to take one star off, though, because I see the friendly atmosphere often get ruined by a weird unhygienic customer who shambles into the store every morning around 6:00 AM (in slippers and bathrobe!), muttering to himself, buys a Star Ledger (ALWAYS with a $5 for some reason, which he never has ready so he keeps everyone behind him in line waiting while he laboriously searches EVERY pocket of his robe and jammies for it), stands there COMPLAINING ABOUT THE CHANGE HE JUST RECEIVED (like "I don't want any dimes, I want all quarters" or "This dollar bill is dirty, give me a different one"), then shuffles out leaving a trail of unwashed aroma and muttered curses. Ban this guy and this shop would get 5 stars from me.

I'm impressed at how sub-par this little shack is. Let's start with the fact it has no debit card/credit for any amount of payment. It's 2013. The main guy is extremely rude but the other cashier is tolerable. I come to this dump only for change in the morning, the main cashier(owner? Manager?) knows this yet still gives me an issue for breaking a 5$ even though I buy an item. Other than that, the food and tobacco is pretty much all stale and I believe the only way this nasty little dump makes ends meet has to be through lotto, selling cigarettes to underage, selling news papers to old men who don't know about the internet and selling loosies to people to broke to buy packs of cigarettes. I absolutely hate this shop, but it is the closest thing at 6am to get myself change.
