Good experience. Very close to my apartment. I had late eye exams for both of my glasses and contact lenses. The doctor was really nice and Emily was the one who helped me, and she was extremely helpful and patient. She helped me try on and pick the contact I really like!

I would totally recommend it.

I went to see Dr. Frank DeRienzo for a routine eye exam. Since I knew these type of businesses like to offer services not covered by the insurance from the very beginning I refused to all additional services offered. I kept saying no thanks, no thanks eye exam only.
The main reason why I refused additional services and requested eye exam only its because I am being covered through my husband insurance and the coverage is "vision and dental only".
Due to time constrain, I was told to return in a couple of days to complete the procedure
So I did . They dilated my eye pupils & test was completed
I received a bill from Dr. Frank DeRienzo for a glaucoma test (365.01 code), I never asked for. The bill is $590.
I called on several occasions to dispute charges and I was told that I was "properly educated on the nature of the test offered and return on her own will"
What I noticed very strange is that when I provided my husband metlife vision number. I was told that its not enough. that they needed to make a copy of my husband medical insurance.
The staff is very arrogant & interested in selling you the more expensive glasses and services you don’t need.
There are two ladies in particular Ms. Kim and another Asian (Philippine) lady responsible for processing insurances. They treated me very unprofessionally .
I just checked on line this business review and all complaints are the same. Overcharge, dishonest, asking for medical insurance card in addition to vision coverage

Please don’t go to Newport Vision in Pavonia/Newport. Stay away from Dr. Frank DeRienzo . He is very arrogant and a simple optometrist. Go to a real doctor (Ophthalmologist)
They are co artists preying on the weak.

These guys are dishonest. I called them to make an appointment and verify my benefits. They asked for my insurance information which I provided. They said the eye exam and contact lenses are covered in full. When I went there at the pointed time, they said "well while your benefit covers the exam and contact lenses, we have to charge you for fitting of the contact lenses" "that would be $220" "we also have to charge you for.....". so on and on. When I told them that no other provider has charged me additional in the past, she told me that they are different etc. When I asked told her that when I made the appointment, I was told that eye exam and lenses were covered and there was no mention of these additional costs, her response was "you did not speak with me"

Needless to say I waked out...

This place is definitely 70-80 percent overpriced. Doctors here are useless and they charged me $10 for a test which they mentioned is very accurate. The test never worked. Please save your time and money and go some place else
