The management people suck!!! I simply wanted to keep the furniture left by a friend when I rent his apartment. They demanded that my lease has to start right away or they would take the furniture out. I already signed the lease and paid the deposit and first month rent. They still would not let me choose a reasonable start date. And the communication between leasing office and management office is so bad. I have not seen such unprofessional people in my life.

the environment is neat and nice, but i see more room to improve on building management and maintenance.
Feels like they want to raise the rent sooner. Really not conducive to building a long-term community of residents, just transient and pulling as much as they can from people.

a great place to call "home". The entire staff always greet you with a smile and are very helpful to our needs, and are quick to attend to any problems that arise . The grounds and facilities are kept clean every day by friendly courteous workers. The workout rooms are open 24//7 are rarely crowded and the pool area is lovely. I love the convenience of the elevator and four story covered parking garage. . I live alone here and could not feel safer anywhere else....a beautiful neighborhood with parks and trails."

Super cool place! Good commute, good view to Manhattan. Everything is close, store, mall, cinema, 24 hrs store, parking. Easy to pick up mailboxes and packages. But one thing can be better - is really cold here during winter

This ill-conceived complex looks like it was built back in the early 80’s with is turquoise windows and austere concrete plazas. They say location is everything, but not in this case. The apartments are VERY drafty in winter and the wind off the river is so string you can feel the cold air come through the gaps in windows. Heating bills are very high so be prepared to add that to your bottom line costs for rent. In the morning elevators are very crowded and many are taken offline for maintenance workers or moves. Moves are daily, this is a transient high turnover complex catering to foreign workers (mostly Indian and Asian). These workers are contract workers deployed in financial accounts and are in and out when contracts end. Elevators are very crowded and can take a very long time. If you have a car, parking is non-existent. You must pay for garage $200+ a month so add that to your rent. The floors are all ugly parkay flooring. Mine actually bubbled up in summer and needed repeated work to fix. They did but it was a poor job. Food: there are no restaurants or any social life near here. It’s dead by 6pm. You best bet is to live further back in JC. Really, your best bet is Hoboken or another town. This was an awful experience and nobody stays more than a year. Don't be fooled by the views. You pay with drafty windows and ineffective heating and AC units that you must run 24 hours......$$$$. This place is for transients only. It is isolated and no neighborhood feel. I would recommend Hoboken. Its a community and so worth it. Even back in JC is better. Newport is a very bad choice and not worth the hassle. Trust me, you will move out in one year....why bother!
