Reviews to New York State Pavilion
I was 7 when my parents took me to the Worlds Fair, I remember the Unisphere and the NYS pavilion both structures are still standing and not in bad shape. The huge Uniroyal tire ride is gone.Water fountains and benches from the 1965 fair are still there. Walk ways and curbing have survived. Its a huge park like setting now, its worth a look in the warm weather, and its free!

It gets a three to average in the structure and mosaic (later mentioned) itself, with the fact that it's abandoned and condemned. The New York State pavilion at the 1964 Worlds Fair featured two restaurants in the air, which much have had quite a view, although not much shows up when you Google it, and a magnificent mosaic map of New York State. When i was younger, you could walk in and around and explore the ground level space and mosaic, but time has taken it's toll, and now it's closed. Not only can't you walk in, it's also tarped off. Perhaps to protect us from falling debris?? Perhaps not. It's interesting to walk around and look at it, but maybe that's because of the remnant of the fair I remember when it wasn't in such a dilapidated condition.

The pavilion itself is a sight to see (especially if you're a Men in Black fan) but don't expect to get any closer than taking photos this Worlds Fair piece of history as tours are offered very, very infrequently and only during special occasions, if at all. The nearby Queens Museum has a World Fair memorabilia exhibit which nicely complements this pavilion.
