New York Police Department - 1st Pct. & Mounted Unit

A concert is playing at South Street pier and it noise is way too loud. Even with my windows shut + the air-conditioner on I can still hear it. And i live in downtown Brooklyn. I can't believe that the concert promoters are not breaking the law regarding the sound decibels that are allowed. The officiers taking my call where unresponsive + could only make feeble excuses claiming they had a license. But they should not be disturbing people miles away.

Honestly, I wonder if this precinct is simply asleep at the wheel. I had some sort of protest outside my window with no fewer than 5 air horns being played continuously for over an hour. I called 311 and filed a noise complaint - I have a business and literally could not operate. Then I called the precinct directly. The officer hung up on me. And this is what I pay taxes for. Terrible work. An embarrassment.

my friend called 911 and when the police officer arrived , he refused to make a report to my friend. it seems like the officer works with his own decisions not the law. disgusting behavior.

To protect and serve? There was only one officer who was willing to help! The rest got a BIG PHAT FAT *F*! it seem to me there is a communication breakdown and not everyone was in the loop or maybe some where not paying attention the day, when the meet about protocol to serve the public! As a matter of fact trying to get some to help you on the phone is worse than dealing with you cable or cell provider! I have never been transfer, put off and told to call back for something that would have taking 5min or less to assist! I had to beg the officers to not tell me to call back, transfer me or put me off! If you can not give to proper info to your staff...then how you know to protect if you can not serve? I visited one other precinct in Crown Heights and they ignored me with out a how can I help you and many looked me dead in the eyes and said nothing!!! WOW and I pay there salaries! TO bad for me...this was my 1st experience in a NYC. I am sad!
