New York Passport Agency

Please Read 100% Honest Review .. Alot of NY agencies run really slow but the people at the passport office get the job done . My date of travel was on a sunday I scheduled a last minute appointment at the boston office because the appointment specialist had to me if I went in as a walk-in at the ny office it wasnt a guarentee . I didnt want to risk it but I did anyway. They stop taking walk-ins at 3pm, My boyfriend and I got there at 2:58pm because there was so much traffic getting there. There was a line outside but that was for pickup not walk-ins so I had a oppurtunity to go straight inside. We went to the first window they looked over our documents , gave us a number,then were sent to the 10th floor. After getting to the 10th floor we had to wait for our number to get called witch took no longer than 10 minutes. I believe because the travel time was so urgent. We gave our documents over again and paid GO WITH EXACT CASH THEY CANT TAKE ANYTHING OVER. After that step we waited for our name to be called witch took about 11/2 hour. We got our passport RIGHT THEN AND THERE . Total time 2 hours and 30 min.. GOOD LUCK

Government at its best. These folks are fast, efficient and funny. Plus its much cheaper to use them than a service. Things to know: arrive early ( I got there at 6:30AM). Doors open at 8AM and I was out by 9:15. Came back next day yo pick up passport...in at 3:45PM and out by 4:16PM. Bring food for the line but be prepared to toss it out as you enter the building (no food or drink inside ). The place has clean water fountains and restrooms

I had a problem with my passport expiring in two months. Who knew some countries want there to be more time! I found out at the airport! Not fun.

When I called the number for an appointment I got the usual bullshit voice response unit providing nothing I needed but when I finally was able to speak to a rep - he was great! He explained exactly what I needed to renew my passport and even transferred me to someone who could possibly get me an appointment.

Since it was last minute I had to wait in line but it moved fast and each portion of the process was extremely efficient with the exception of the drone woman in the waiting area with the blue eye shadow who didn't seem like she was paying attention. She was replaced with a great guy who was paying attention.

I got my passport renewed in three hours - not bad for government work I'd say!!!

They have been so positive and so efficient with everything today. I found out last night when I was trying to board a plane that my passport needed to remain in issue for 3 months after my scheduled arrival (I only had 2 1/2) so we booked a flight for the next day on Friday. I got in line at 6:30 (they open at 7:30) and was helped by 9:20 (there were at least 150 people there and most of them before me). They were very kind and helpful and got me to calm down. They told me after that because of the time of my flight, they would do their best to have it done in 1-2 hours! I never thought I could leave such nice comments about a government agency!! Awesome!!:):)

I'm right now waiting in line with my 90 year disabled mother. They will not let her in as to not give her "special privileges" so u have no idea how long it will be till she collapses. I am NOT kidding. I have tickets to fly today and while a us embassy will give an emergency pasaporte here it seems maybe !!!! The worst ever. Heartless and irresponsible is a gross understatement
