New York Marriott East Side

Front desk able to accommodate late checkout request. Hotel rate was reasonable given location and it being NYC. Our only complaints were an inability of the shower to produce anything but lukewarm water and general brightness of our room (did not have blackout curtains or shades, just a semi-translucent floral patterned drape that ascended or descended on a chain). Would stay here again based on price and location.

Decent rooms and a nice bathroom bu the vallet service has absolutely horrid. We called at 9:15 and a hour later we still did not have out car. Very upsetting, I would not revist.

Standard NY room... Small... Place to sleep. Nice lobby and incredibly nice staff. Well located as it's just off the main touristy areas yet close enough.

Would give 5 stars if had free wifi but oh well. Quick check-in and greeted on steps before entering the building. Clean and nice sized rooms with little to no noise (stayed on the 7th floor). Elevators are small and weird but it was my first time in NYC so it's probably standard. Floors L-16 are the A elevators on the left and the rest of the floors on B elevators on right. No big deal. Conveniently located with knowledgeable concierge service. Close to subways, shopping etc. Overall a good experience and will stay again.

In the past we've stayed at the Marriott Marquis in Time Square but after staying at the Marriott East we will be staying there from now on. It's more laid back with a relaxed environment. You don't walk outside into a thousand people like Times Square.The hotel was very clean. The concierge was very helpful. We came in for the World Series and were happy to learn that you could take the subway from Grand Central Station directly to the stadium which was a plus! Grand Central Station is within walking distance from the hotel. Also several of our favorite restaurant's are nearby as well. Also, if you like bourbon there's a bar two doors down called Whiskey Blue that has a nice selection.
