I just saw The Mikado in The Villages in Florida. I was very disappointed in what you have done to be "politically correct'! I have seen this play before in its original context. It is a play after all, so I don't understand the problem with wearing wigs at least by white performers. It was hard to imagine that the players were supposed to be Japanese when they all had blond hair! And I don't like the changes in dialogue to bring this play into the 21st century. Would the Royal Shakespeare Company do this? I doubt it very much. By doing these changes, I think you should call this a play based on The Mikado!!

Any company who thinks that its appropriate to paint peoples faces yellow to depict a race should be ashamed of themselves. People who support this obviously have never had to face discrimination in their lives but being a Korean American woman who has children say that this practice is disgraceful.

What a thrill to have had NYG&S Players here at the Colorado Symphony in Denver on January 25th, 2015 Please come back soon !
The Players were full of life and exuberance, beautifully costumed! Oh, my, I am sorry the House was not packed with patrons!
