Wow if I could give it 0 stars I would still try and take one away. Omni you hit the nail on the head. I have one experience (of my countless others) where everyone at the window of the AEU Dept just decided to stop taking numbers and have an office party. Everyone stopped helping the customer they were on and proceeded to sit around and chat for a good 45 minutes RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE WINDOWS!!! Parading around that, if they wanted to, they could just stop working and tell stories and flaunt it right in front of the people they were supposed to be helping. All of us were looking around at each other like "Are these people for real?". Unfortunately these government agencies don't function like businesses at all. if there was even a hint of professionalism or work ethic in that building i would be astounded!!! Even the security guards that "secure" the lobby and usher people through the building's checkpoint are rude, discriminatory, and often demoralizing. The problem is that these people have no incentive to actually work hard. there is no recourse or even a threat of reprimand when these employees don't actually do the job they are paid for. the government wastes money hiring uneducated slackers who merely want a cushion of a job and good health benefits, and then never audit their hiring process by verifying if who they hired was actually right for the job. It's unfortunate, because there might be a few decent, hard working human beings in there. But they are radically eclipsed by the worthless, torpid and callow individuals that make up the majority.
