I first went here as a child with my Grandmother and Aunt. It was a nice experience. However, it wasn't until I took my lady here in 2014 that I REALLY for to enjoy the New York Botanical Garden for want it really is. We took the gardens in-house form of transportation to get from point A to B and enjoyed the view along the way. In addition to that, we took loads of pics to commemorate or time together. I would recommend to all gentleman looking for the perfect date with their lady to make this be THE destination. Definitely check out the Rise Garden while you're there. You won't regret it.

Such an amazing place to visit! There's SO MUCH GREEN just a 20-minute train ride from Midtown Manhattan. The gardens are amazing, and they change throughout the year, depending on what's blooming. NYBG also runs a lot of great exhibitions/programs, the Frida Kahlo one was phenomenal and the Holiday Train Show was truly impressive.

Such a beautiful garden, definitely reserve enough time and energy if you want to cover a decent portion of it. There's a convenient garden mobile that can get you to different parts of the garden.
The Frida Kahlo exhibit there were showing was beautiful as well.

No matter the season, the New York Botanical Garden is one of the most stunning places in the city and considered a worldwide leader in botany.
2015's Frida Kahlo exhibition shattered attendance records at the garden by a landslide.
This is the perfect place to go to alone, with friends, family, your kids, or a romantic date.
Easy access via Metro North which leaves you right outside its gates or subway and then a nice 10 minute walk or so.

The NYBG is not only an excellent place to visit, it is a place you can relax and revive in the middle of a bustling city. I have been volunteering there with my wife for over 7 years and enjoy every minute of our once a week visits. The extra perks are too numerous to count and each one is worth the time and energy to exploit it to its' fullest. Whether you are going to a park for free, go to free shows at the NYBG or just stroll around, it is all worth it. But it doesn't stop there, we have entered other gardens and museums for Free and after volunteering for a certain amount of hours, the classes they give at the garden are free as well.
