I am throughly disgusted by this office and it's ingenue attitude. After considering this procedure to improve my diabetic health I should of never gone thru the process with this organization. From the very first appointment I encountered behaviors and attitude that would last the entire year I was with them.
The first three appointments were rescheduled with three different doctors without any consideration or information as to why. But my health was important to me so I proceeded. As I continued the process of getting approvals needed from other Drs for my surgery the process only became more convoluted. From the arrogance of the reception staff at front desk and office manager was appalling, they were rude and lacked professionalism.
After getting close to surgery they again changed my Dr to someone I never knew or had met. This was a week before surgery. I wasn't given an option of asking why? If I wanted the surgery I had to go with this new Dr I had never spoken to before. Outrageous! I did not want to give up all I had worked for the past year so I again proceeded.
The office staff and office manager were of no help what's so ever when I called to ask why? In fact their office manager refused to give me her name several times and was incredibly rude. After continued visiting of weight progress they did little to encourage my success or did they even care.
The message became clear that dr. Shawn M. Garber, Dr. Stephen Holover (who I originally met with canceled three separate appointments without any reason), Dr John D. Angstad (was the second Dr who I saw for 3 minutes on occasions but acted like he couldn't bothered to spend more time to discuss anything. This was all Disgusting. I had a nightmare experience with these unprofessional individuals. I had surgery and after trying hard to make the process work I gave up and moved on. Even when I to reach out to these doctors by mail and several, six, phone calls to their office they were of no help.
I finally found the Bariatric Dept at Winthrop University Hospital run by Dr. COLLIN BRATHWACITE and his staff of professionals, who have been amazing and very willing to offer guidance and continued services that were sadly and extremely lacking at NY Bariatric Group run by Dr Shawn Garber. I would urge anyone and everyone who is considering Bariatric surgery to go to any other provider than NY Bariatric Group in Roslyn Heights. For me the experience with them was unsatisfying and extremely unpleasant.
