I have come here 6-7 times and only once was the wait time reasonable length. The rest of the times I had to leave because it was just taking way too long and there were still plenty of people ahead of me. The biggest problem with this place in my opinion is that they dont hire efficient people. They are simply way too slow. The reason why the lines are long and the wait so long is because on average it took them 15-25 minutes to handle one person. One single person! And the line builds up quickly when you move so slow. I find it criminal that people have to wait upwards of 4 hours to get a license renewal. Workers sometimes purposely act arrogant when they see you are frustrated and want to get this over with. That's when they act real slow just to show you whose the boss there. Pathetic and unprofessional. Strongly recommend to avoid it. The management needs to be replaced.

Thank you so much, North Bergen DMV, for renewing my faith in how horrible DMVs are. They probably should change their hours on Saturday from 8-1 to 6-11. I waited for 2.5 hours out in the cold for them to close the doors in my face. In those 2.5 hours they served no more than 15 people. Efficiency at its BEST! Please come here if you want to walk away wanting to claw your eyes out. So glad our tax dollars are employing the best of the best.

Going to DMV is a painful process that we do not want to go through. But this location provide a good service as a DMV license agency. Even the waiting time is very long, the staff member is very nice and patience.They explained every thing I need clear and patient. For my situation, additional document is needed and more procedures should be performed, the girl their helped me step by step on this process with out complaining anything. She even let me go home and retrieve document and comeback without waiting in line again. Recommend come to this location if you live in this area.Weekday afternoon would be the best time to come since the line is way much shorter.

I visited this MVC to get an NJ license and register my car. The staff was helpful, efficient, and nice. The wait was reasonable (about an hour and a half on Tuesday noon) and once I reached a clerk I was done in a few minutes.

My one complaint is that the place is not designed for elderly, handicapped, or parents with children. I wish they would implement a number system instead of stand-in lines.

advice to others - come as early as possible. it took me around 3 hours to get my driving license sorted from scratch. those who work, aim Tuesday afternoon as its open till 7.30 pm.
get as many documents you can and always get a print out of the 6 point assessment from the MVC website on the documents you selected which made up your 6 points. Reason - you may encounter a staff who isn't aware and plans to drive you out citing lack of documentation. Do not feel shy to confront the matter with their supervisor.
Written test - read the manual, practice free online tests. Make use of the SKIP option on questions that you are doubtful of.
MVC staff - after reading so many horrible reviews across all NJ MVCs, i wasn't really expecting much. Just limit your interactions to what is required, overall i had a very good experience with most (bound to have some bad fishes to maintain the balance of nature) :)
