Casual Sunday Dinner. Good Garlic Bread. The carbonara is great too.

Probably the worst Italian food I ever ate!!!....lets start with the inside of the resturant. Its completely dated, like walking into my grandmothers dining room back in 1980...horrible carpets, cheesy gold celing fans, celing was full of marks, and stains, cheap paintings of fruit everywhere.Then theres the service, the waiter, who looked like a thug from Rikers Island, was rough and didnt even greet us and say " hi, my name is ******, I will be your server, would anyone like a cocktail"...he just yelled out "who wants appetizers" in a nasty voice.His uniform was 3 sizes larger than him, it was literally hanging on him, and it was full of stains.The bus boys who looked like they came from a childrens home had there uniform shirts hanging outside their pants. The menu was too complex and confusing, too many dishes, a more simplified menu would of been refreshing.The food was terrible!!...not fresh,very heavy, drowning in sauce, and no flavor.I ordered brocoli rabe and it came soggy, extremely overcooked, almost brown!!!..My dish, which was filet of soul franchise were two overly breaded fish cutlets floating in thick greasy lemon sauce....disgusting! ...I will never go there again, or recommend it to anyone else!!

It's been an excellent restaurant for many years, even for my parents before I was born. Love the clams oregenata!

I'm pretty sure my grandpa goes here atleast twice a week. And for good reasons. You will not be disappointed by this landmark. Manny, our waiter took excellent care of us. The Frutti Di Mare (seafood salad) can and has been my a dinner for me before. Stuffed artichokes when they have them should be ordered.
