Is a great place and by far one of the best maintained and most beautiful blocks in the area and hey is Riverdale!!!!!
Good and responsive management.
New manager is diligent and understands the intricacies of the complex.
Close to Manhattan and easy transportation,

I have lived in Netherland Gardens for 2 years as a renter (separated from husband) and have loved every minute of living there. The atmosphere is so pleasant and inviting, it's as if you were living in the burbs but with the convience of public transportation everywhere. There is a strong sense of community living there. Every year I look forward to the block party in the fall where all gather for food, drink, entertainment.
Many improvements have been made in the 2 years I have lived as a tenent. They have replaced all the elevators in every building, and have upgraded the laundry rooms and basements. They are now in process of re-facing the bricks on some of the building. The buildings are kept immaculate every day. The maintence staff work dilegently to provide excellent service.
The management office has undergone alot of turn over and the previous person in charge was extremely unfriendly and not customer service orientated. He is no longer there. The current manager is very good. She was promoted when the other manager left. She is very familiar with the issues and concerns of shareholders. As a tenent you have to deal with your landlord who then in turn deals with the management office.
I have recently become a shareholder and am very pleased to be an owner.
If you are considering living in Riverdale, do not overlook Netherland Gardens. For the price, it is the best hidden gem in Riverdale. JVP

I would look to move somewhere else. I was interested in moving into one of the co-op apartments they had for rent but needless to say it ever happened and the person who owns the co-op not only never gave me my first month’s rent or deposit, or answered my phone call attempts, but Netherlands Gardens was very unhelpful and stated they had nothing to do with what’s going on between me and the owner. You would think they’d be a little more caring and helpful in this situation but instead i got the cold shoulder. I’d say unless you are completely desperate to live there move somewhere else, it is not worth the hassle of going to court.
