Nassau Oral Surgery: Alexander Gekht DDS

Very disappointed. Scheduled an appointment a month in advance for wisdom teeth extraction. After an hours wait in the office we were told that the general dentist performed a panoramic xray and insurance only covers 1 per year. The general dentist said that they did numerous bite wing xrays but they code out the same way as a panoramic. Dr. Gekhts office can only use panoramic xrays. So I paid $100 out of pocket only to be told that based on the results of this xray they now need prior authorization for the top wisdom teeth (impacted) and a CT scan for the bottom two. He then informs us that the CT scan can only be done by his office and it's not covered by insurance..cost is $525 and they set up a payment plan!! Really? No thank you!! All this took over 2 hours and nothing was done. My daughter and I both lost a days pay from work and now I have to scramble to find a reputable oral surgeon before she goes back to college. I manage a surgeons office and if my office worked like this on a daily basis my physician would be out of work.

I had multiple severely impacted teeth that required careful extraction, and Dr. Harwood handled the procedures with aplomb and guided me through the healing process with clear, understandable instructions. Since the completion of the procedures, I haven't encountered a single complication. Should I require additional oral surgical procedures in the future, I will undoubtedly turn to Dr. Harwood. I highly recommend you do the same if you are in need of assistance.
