Nagel's Candy Barn

I have been going to this store for over 40 years. The chocolate is beyond compare. It is definitely my favorite place for candy.

Love Nagels been going the forever, worked there when I was in high school. Went to Wayne store yesterday. Sign still on door that they closed for summer, only odd thing is it says the reopen in September. I hope they ok.

First and foremost, the chocolate is excellent!! I'm from Chicago, and my relatives in New Jersey ship over a big box of it during the holidays from the Wayne location-- Easter, Halloween and Christmas. We get chocolate mini characters, chocolate bunnies, chocolate pops, and large malt balls. Delicious!! If you live in the area and can access the candy store throughout the year, this place is a must during the holidays. If you're visiting from out of state, however, there's a considerable chance you may be out of luck.

The one major drawback I have never understood about Nagel's is the vacation time. Whenever my family and I take a trip out to New Jersey every other year to see our relatives during the summer, I want to see the inside of Nagel's candy barn only to find them closed for the summer. This year, with our visit happening later in the summer than usual (late July/early August instead of early or mid-July), I had hopes that they may be open. They had hours listed on Google, but when I called to confirm whether they were open for the day, no one picked up. We drove over to the barn ourselves, only to find a handwritten sign taped to the door saying they would reopen in September.

It would be immensely helpful if they had an official website listing all their information, including hours, what dates they open and close seasonally throughout the year, who to contact, including a name, and their product offerings. Having an official voicemail to leave messages on would also be a big help. This way, customers that want to visit the candy store can plan accordingly and not be confused as to how the business operates.

I have been there a few times. The staff, although elderly, has always been most helpful and courteous. It is an old time candy store and it is a pleasure to visit and buy there. I only wish that there was a web site that I could visit.

The worst customer service every. No one should go there, they should be run out business.
The lady is the rudest person in the service industry I have every come across.
