Our agent was personable, flexible, and helpful... until we got our keys and it turned out she lied. She told us that she had spoken with the landlord and would get the apartment deep cleaned (the previous tenants had lived in the apartment for years and it was gross), painted, and get a new oven/range for the kitchen. We even have a paper where we wrote that we would only take it under those conditions and she ok-ed it. However, upon moving in all we could get was the super to repaint, and the agent was nowhere to be found. Our landlord said she never contacted him about anything, and that since her didn't sign the papers there was nothing we could do. Make sure you follow up on ANYTHING they tell you, because once you sign your lease MySpace wants nothing to do with you.

Misleading. We put in a month's rent deposit and due to our not-so-good credit we needed a guarantor. We got a guarantor, and then were told the landlord still didn't approve due to credit. Okay, fine. We offered 2 more months rent up front, on top of security to make the landlord a bit more comfortable and were told via the broker that it'd suffice. Turns out we call next day to find out when we're going to pay and they tell us that the landlord actually never approved, they lied and made it seem like he accepted the offer, but never actually did. Waste of 2 weeks and a $150 application fee.

Hi Myspace! Here is the updated review that you called and requested I write.
I'll be fair, my last review did in fact, say that you refused to send me my security deposit. That just isn't the whole story. So here I am, happily updating my experience for all the world to read. Just like you requested.
We could start with my actual experience in the apartment. The leaky ceiling that I had to call about dozens of times and never actually got completely fixed and pained. Cockroaches, lots of them. The terrible receptionist at your office. Garbage left all around the apartment from the little facelift before we moved in, but that wasn't what you called and asked me to write about.
No, what you were calling about, 8 months after I had left the property, was my experience regarding my security deposit. I admit, I did write my review prematurely... after waiting twice the time that I had been promised. And you are right, I did eventually get it, and here is the important bit, after 6 weeks of bickering with your petty staff (two of whom routinely lied about when the check was sent and gave me attitude about when the check had been sent. Forunately for me, they didn't bother to check with each other to see who was lying about what ), calling daily to make sure it had been sent, and threatening to bring a lawyer to your office to have the check cut.
Why was I so adamant about getting my check (besides being told that it had already been sent and I had already received it... when neither was true)? Because a neighbor who used your company, who was not as persistent as I was, was stiffed on her deposit. I didn't want that to happen to me as. So I called to make sure it was coming and after 6 weeks of being lied to, I wrote my review.
After 8 weeks of this nonsense I thought I was done with you. That's why I was surprised to get a call from you 8 months after I had left the property asking to remove my review. Apparently my brother got the same call, but with different information. You told him the check had been sent 1 week after we left the apartment, another boldfaced lie, and would you kindly remove that nasty review. Well, here I am, happy to oblige. I hope you consider the situation rectified.
However, if you'd like to call again to give me another lecture on being petty and telling the truth, I would be happy to sit and revel in the irony.
Lots of love,
1063

Great experience 2 years in a row. First move I worked with Joshua. We moved from across the country and had 3 days to find a spot. Joshua found us the perfect apartment. Apt was supposed to have renovations before we moved in. Josh returned to the property once they were done to show us the reno - after we signed the lease and returned to PGH. When we moved, he offered us his (in-garage) parking spot to plant our uhaul if need be. Great customer service. They move fast b/c they want to get you in an apartment. Its just the way it works in NYC.
Fast-forward a year. We get priced out of our current place so I call Joshua again. Remembers us, my fiancee's job, etc. Takes us to neighborhoods that he doesnt typically cover. Works with us on his day off b/c we were available. Willing to go to bat for us on the lease, trying to get some cash knocked off the top. Drives us all over Brooklyn searching for the right apt. No pressure. Super cool guy, great broker. Definitely request Joshua Tims.
