I love this museums intimate size and feel. They often have extremely interesting exhibits that are specific to the history of NYC.

I enjoyed this museum primarily for the video piece which was about 30 minutes long with a brief but comprehensive overview of NYs evolution into the metropolis it is today. The other exhibits range between average and good in my opinion.

Small museum, converted from a mansion built in the late 19th/early 20th century. I hadn't been there for a long time, and since they have expanded a ton. Though they only have a relatively small permanent collection, their loaned exhibits are always impressing. And to top it off, they have a 22-minute, large screen video that details the history of New York in the context of its expansion and how people lived during each time period.

On of the two major museums dedicated to New York City. Permanent exhibits relating to Children's toys, Rockefeller home rooms, giving a glimpse of part of New York's past, and New York City firefighting and changing exhibits on any number of facets of New York with photos, paintings, and objects. 4 floors of exhibits you can enjoy multiple times a year as new openings occur. There are also events relating to the exhibits and other New York topics.
