Don't believe Michael Walsh's hype. He isn't a real realtor, he mostly just sells his friend's properties in his own building (520 W. 23rd) where he has been Board Chair for the past 9 years--he manages the properties for the owners who rent and bends all kinds of building rules to make a rental buck. He won't allow non-board members at board meetings and issues are never taken care of and fester. He is competitive and impossible to talk with, when his position requires openness and fairness. He ignores important issues--deal with our impending land lease crisis at 520 W. 23rd Street! He runs the building like his own short-term investment opportunity, to hell with the long-term sustainability, community and livability. On the good side he is not prejudiced and learning more. If he got more formal training in how to run a Board and co-op issues he could be good.
