I would not recommend Mountainside Hospital ER department. It is not professional. I went in with severe abdominal pain. I was placed on a gurney in the hallway. No privacy. I sat there for an hour and a half before I was even acknowledged. Tests were ordered without even being seen by the doctor. It was loud not because of patient care but staff members yelling about going to Grasshopper 2 for birthdays. I would rather choose to be in pain than go back to that er.

Okay, so this is gonna be kinda biased because I volunteer here, but I love it! I work in the outpatient dialysis clinic and all the nurses, doctors, technicians and receptionists are very nice! The leader of the volunteers is extremely nice, she's so great. I do try my best to say 'Hi!' and/or smile to everyone I encounter there and make sure that they're having a pleasant experience :) Everyone is so nice there! Lots of smiling faces, no matter what. We're all here for our visitors and patients. Very respected and special place :)
I've been working here for almost 2 years! I started back when I was a senior in high school; I graduated in 2014. I'm in college now, so I only come like once a week for a couple hours. Oh, and you get free food if you become a volunteer, lol. There's two "luncheons" a year for professionals and volunteers: one in like early September or late August for summer, and one in December for like Christmas and stuff. If your shift is over a food time and/or your shift is exactly or over 4 hours, (breakfast, lunch or dinner) you can go to the volunteer room and get like a 'coupon'. The food is pretty good, actually! They have a wide variety of stuff.. salads, sandwiches, paninis, yogurt, puddings, French fries, soup, and hamburgers to just name a few things! They also have lots of drinks: coffee, sodas, water.. and they have like candy and other snack items in vending machines, which are also in the cafeteria. It is always pretty nice in there, interesting tables. It's also a fairly big room, so there's a ton of seating. There's also a private dining room off to the right towards the back of the room, and that room is also pretty nice I guess. I don't really know, I honestly haven't really been in there before. Lol.
You have to fill out an application, get a physical done at your doctor's office and get a blood test that tests for like Rubella, whooping cough, etc. You get a red polo (17-) or a blue polo (18+) and you just have to pay like $20 for it, so it's not bad at all. Older adult volunteers either have to wear like a royal blue jacket (guys) or a salmon/pink jacket (girls) Wear khakis with closed toe shoes (sneakers, flats, etc.) and you get a security badge with your name with a color picture of yourself on the top left corner and it says Volunteer on it. If you lose it, it's like $5 to replace it I think. You have to get a sticker that gets put on your badge (this year's is like a lightish blue) for your flu shot, which is given to all professionals and volunteers every year for free. Also, you have to get a TB test done every year, which is given to you for free at the hospital too! Lots of free stuff. Haha. Also, there's these training meetings they have a few times a year and you HAVE to go. They send a letter to your house, which has dates on it and you just show up and listen lol. Most of the time, these things only take like an hour or so; so it's really not too bad! Safety and security, HIPAA (privacy law) and other legal things, 'Words That Work'/carrot thing and all the different people at the hospital and what they exactly do. Those are usually held in the multipurpose/auditorium or in the private dining room. Oh, you also have to attend an orientation meeting for new volunteers, and that lasts about 2 1/2-3 hours. (It was really horrible for me, because I really had to pee the whole time and I didn't want to leave the room) but yeah! The leader comes in and basically talks about like what's expected of you as a volunteer and all that good stuffs. There's a whole presentation/slideshow, so it's kind of fancy. Those are usually held in a conference room, which is sorta near the cafeteria. One last thing: don't be afraid to stop anyone to ask a question, we'll be more than happy to answer it or find out the answer for you!

Absolutely the most unprofessional and incompetent dental clinic I have ever seen. Dentists lie about anesthetic, can not suture to save their lives, leave patients without any pain management after MULTIPLE extractions on the same visit (wisdom tooth included). They will not discuss anything, will not accept responsibility for screw ups, and doctors refuse to even give their name when a problem arises. This place is an absolute joke. Unless you are about to die avoid like the plague.
