My father was in and out of this hospital for 3 months for breathing issues. I did not know what was wrong with him. He had a few issues so it was hard to determine what actually was the cause . Although his pulmonary doctor was excellent, it was very difficult to reach these doctors or get any clear cut answers from them. In fact his cardiologist who happens to be a good doctor was very arrogant & never returned my calls. Even though I was his health proxy it did not matter. I worked and had to run up to hospital on my lunch breaks & evenings and never really could catch the doctors so I called their offices only to have my calls not returned. It was very frustrating. My father went thru 2 procedures was in ICU & intubated a few times. In rehab twice only to come back to hospital. I never got any clear answers from them. He died after 3 months of this back & forth. I feel that he was put through all these procedures & intubated, etc when they knew there was no hope for him. I did not even know what he died from. I wish they would have just told me straight out and I could have had him die at home surrounded by his family. I live with that guilt everyday because he asked me to not to let him die there. I feel they stole that from him & I to fill their pockets. The nurses and floor staff was amazing. ICU nurses were top notch. In fact, an ICU nurse approached me very professionally one evening and advised that I sign a DNR. It was not until this nurse approached me that I knew that was it. I still wanted confirmation from a doctor but did not get it. I decided to sign the DNR only when I saw he was suffering. The night before my father passed, I spoke with his pulmonary doctor and asked he be placed in Hospice. That never happened. He suffered and I know it could have been avoided had he been placed in hospice sooner. Giving two stars for nurses because I cannot thank them enough for helping my father die with some dignity.

I have COPD and Afib ,I could not breath right and I called for an ambulance.
as with all ER,s all critical people have priority .I strongly disagree with the other reviews . These Doctors and Nurses do care, What I saw with my own eyes tell me .this is an excellent facility. I was Hospitalized twice in the last three months, and I just would like to say thank you from the transporters who took me to the X-ray and to CT and Sonogram, they were great. The Doctors who saw me were excellent and you can clearly see they were all on point and explained everything clearly to me what they thought what was going on with me and what course of action to take. .My room 324 was clean and looked brand new the bathroom was the best I have ever seen in any hospital .I was at Lutheran for 14 days three years ago and although the Doctors were good Especially Dr El Atat , that place needs a makeover.
