I was in and out of Newark DMV. The lady was super sweet and helpful and actually said "im going to get you outta here" could not believe it! Even with a few missing documents she allowed me to get them and took me in between people. Nice people still exist!

I came here with a friend to renew her license, standing there minding my own business smoking a cig in a "smoking allowed zone" when this testing officer starting to be rude so me. She was so nasty. I guess she was having a bad day. But there was no need to be rude to me. She could have asked nicely. I posted a pic of her on here. I really hope she changes her attitude and be a better human being we are all here to share the same experiences in this world. Be kind to each other.

Given the reviews I read, I was expecting a nightmare. I went in to renew my license and was in and out on a Saturday within 1 hour and 10 mins. The staff definitely wasnt playing around, but if you were polite and patient they did their job efficiently.

Do not under ANY circumstances attempt to complain or tell them how things should be. They will ruin you.

What a horrible, inefficient, buereaucratic mess; proof positive of the DMV's reputation. I was issued the incorrect documentation and was denied access to driving lessons because of this office's failure. The Newark DMV is a dreadful manifestation of woeful incompetence.

The worst place to go for your road test.If I can give this place a 0 star I would. I let my license expire so i had to do everything over again. I also took 5 hours of lesson with a driving school (again) to be sure I will pass my road test. The examiner lady was so rude she came off like she was already having a bad day......but wait it is only 10am you having a bad day already. With that being said she told me to switch lanes before i did what she asked me to do i signaled, check the mirror and looked before changing lanes she said wrote on the paper i changed lanes without checking and stopping for on coming traffic and added some more things.
