We have been going to It's a Grind since it opened, and up until recently it was friendly, quick, and served a great coffee. I'm not sure if it is under new ownership or new management. Today there was a smaller selection of brewed coffee and my latte was very weak and had a burnt taste. The service was very unfriendly and between customers the barista sat and talked to friends instead of sweeping the filthy floor or changing the trash. To top it all off, there was no toilet paper in the bathroom, but they did leave a large supply of napkins. I'm not sure if we will be back or not.

We liked this place when it first opened. However this year the food has been stale or cookies were greasy, the tea is weak and the coffee too. I had a group meeting here, but it finally got so bad we were forced to move. The staff was unwilling to fix any of the probems we had nicely metioned over several months. It's sad too, because this was a great place last year.
They do have lovely decor, a sometimes working fireplace and the wing-backed chairs are so comfortable that in the end they were the only reson we continued to tolerate the numerous bad aspects.
In one review I noticed someone said they would cater. Well, they have several people catering their sweets and I would only hire the one who makes the cakes. The cake slices have been in the case for days and are stale. I bet is was great when it was new and fresh.Everything you order to eat is either thrown in the microwave or sent through a toaster with a conveyer belt which has burnt crumbs dating back to day they bought it. The smell coming from the toaster is enough to run you out of the cafe.
The employees at night act as if they'd rather you went somewhere else or didn't order anything. I don't know what's happened to this cafe, but it still has a chance before the young employees completely ruin it's name.
I find it sad that a business with such potential has gone so far down hill in such a short amount of time. I suggest the owner/owners get back in the store and keep a hands on approach before it's too late to get old customers back.
