Reviews to Mobile Medi Care PC: Beams Michael DO
I love Dr. Beams. He has been our family's primary care physician for over 35 years. He cared for my 98 year old grandmother, my husband when he tore a muscle, my mother for high blood pressure issues, my son, and me. He is knowledgeable, caring, and kind. Importantly, he diagnosed me with mono during my 40's.
Very glad he is my physician--I trust and feel safe with him.

I have been his patient for 15 years. He is one of the most caring doctors you will find. He is honest and tells you the facts. If he doesn't know something he will tell you. His passion for his job is exemplified in his care for his patients.

This doctor is a terrible human being. I couldn't even get a simple vitamin test out of him for over a year and ended up finding out my vitamin D count was disgustingly low. I have endometriosis so I'm regularly nauseous, this keeps me from having anything close to a healthy diet (I'm talking living on TV dinners and cheez its bad diet). When I informed him of this and requested my vitamins be tested he told me verbatim "Oh those tests don't matter." It probably should have clued me in something was wrong when my doctor told me vitamins don't matter, but he was just so damned nice at first that I was stupid enough to listen to him. So knowing that I also suffer from anxiety and depression (which vitamin deficiencies can exacerbate) he started pumping me full of antidepressants, even though he ended up telling me later that he was not qualified to deal with mental health issues. I was referred to him by somebody who has been diagnosed by him and gets their antidepressants/anti anxiety medication from him, so that was interesting. After finally forcing the issue of getting my vitamins tested it turned out I had a serious vitamin D deficiency, who knew? So after a particularly bad month I made the mistake of shedding a few tears in his office while informing him the second antidepressant he had prescribed me in a year did nothing but enhance my daily nausea. He rubbed my shoulders reassuringly and told me it would be okay, it was all genetic and I should stop worrying because he was going to help me through this. He then instructed me to try it for a little longer to see if it ended up working, refilled my prescriptions for antidepressants, benzodiazepines and sleeping pills and sent me on my way. Well I did as he instructed as usual, kept trying with the medications just in case he was right. A few months later when my prescriptions ran out my pharmacy was not refilling them as usual, even after I had them call the doctor for me as they always do, and then even called them in on the new voicemail to request a refill myself. All three medications I was on are addictive substances, you can actually die from benzodiazepine withdrawal (luckily I only took my anxiety medication sparingly as needed so I had extra). After waiting over a week one of his horrible assistants called me back. Not him of course, he had someone else do his dirty work after reassuring me for over a year he would help me overcome this. She was just calling to let me know that they had decided I need to see a therapist and he would not be refilling my medications. How nice of them to inform me of this decision before my addictive medications ran out. Needless to say, this doctor is not only a terrible human being but also showed extreme negligence for the physical and mental well being of a patient in this instance, not to mention all the antidepressants he prescribes only to admit at a later time he is not qualified to treat mental issues. Visit at your own risk.

One of the conveniences of this practice is its combination family practice and sports medicine. I adore Dr. Barry. He's very down to earth, honest and really takes the time to go over things in detail with you. Its a learning practice too so they have interning docs and your visit goes into extreme detail largely because of it.
They deal in osteopathy and aren't quick to send you off with a script. My husband has back problems and knee issues and they are attentive and responsive. I love this practice.
