I have eaten at over 20 different sushi restaurants in the tri state area, and with my experience here I must say it is in fact THE best and freshest sushi I have ever eaten. The place is very aesthetically pleasing, waiters pay close attention to you, and sitting at the sushi bar always warrants you an extra little unique dish on the house. I love this place and recommend it to anyone who loves sushi and even those who want to have a great first experience.

I ordered my food THREE HOURS AGO. It is still not here, an hour ago I called and was told "it should be on its way" I looked up on google maps, you live 11 minutes away from me. There is no excuse for this. I will NOT EVER be ordering from you again, nor will my friends or relatives. Never have I ever had to wait this long before! Do not recommend at all!

What can I say about Mizu Japanese Fusion Restaurant? Let me start off with the pros: very hip decor & fairly new. The cons: TOTALLY OVERPRICED sushi, rolls, entrees & aloof management. First of all, I've never paid $5.00 for a small rinky dink California roll on SI. Cmon, this is highway robbery! If you are going to get top of the line sushi or rolls from a real Japanese restaurant in Manhattan, then you expect high prices. However, this is Tottenville and by no means does Mizu deliver the goods not even close when it comes to great sushi. What gives Mizu the upper hand in the neighborhood and the ability to charge outrageous prices is simply this *no competitors* nearby. My sister-in-law lives two blocks away from Mizu and she says the Tottenville area needs a good sushi restaurant with REASONABLE prices w/o the expensive decor and fluff Mizu offers. As far as the hibachi is goes, Mizu is expensive and the food is so-so. The restaurant is run by Fukinese (Chinese) and not a Japanese staff so the entrees and hibachi ended up tasting more like Chinese food (sorry to say this but since I am Chinese so I can spot this a mile away). Btw, the asian manager (David) who is usually dressed up is aloof, not friendly at all and never cracks a smile if his life depended on it. Well, that's besides the point. Save your hard earned $$$ and go elsewhere.
