I had an appointment for consultation with Dr. Mittleman on December 3, 2013. I consulted with the doctor whether to opt for a sinus polyp surgery or not. As according to my previous ENT doctor, there is no option other than surgery in my case. This was the first doctor, who educated me about the harmful effects of cat scan on a human brain and he also educated me about the harmful effects of a nasal polyp surgery itself. I got three cat scans within one and a half year. I had a nasal polyp surgery in my home country in June 2012 and I have gone through a cat scan there. When I came to US, due to sever sinus problem the first ENT doctor asked me to go for another cat scan within six months of my first surgery. After six months, I went to see another ENT doctor in Flushing and he did a cat scan too. None of them told me about the harmful effects of cat scan. Moreover, this is the only doctor who educated me that a person having asthma and allergy both have a greater tendency to develop nasal polyps within six months. I would suggest all ENT patients to take professional guidance from this doctor. For me, he is a medical educationist. He is first a human being, thinking about other human beings from the same perspective, which he thinks about himself or his family. Thank you very much doctor Mittleman for your valuable suggestion.
