Took my sisters who visited NYC. We had such an amazing time. Great food and ambiance. Try the jerk corn.

Great, close to authenticate Jamaican dishes. They keep it pretty mainstream w a menu consisting of the most iconically known dishes like jerk chicken, plaintains, rice and peas, etc. The vibe is laid back and chill, and dancehall and reggae fill the room. The cocktails are ok, but I wouldn't necessarily go there for them, it really is about the food.

I was initially very excited from the smell walking in the door and the people inside. The hostess asked us if we had a reservation, we didn't as we were just walking and decided to check it out. She said we would have to be seated outside because we didn't have a reservation..? Ok, I asked was it on the street, she said they had a patio in the back. Which was really the sidewalk next to garbage cans, which we could smell. The strange thing is there was at least 12 seats open inside the restaurant and the bar space.
So when we said we could smell the garbage..the manager or some overly aggressive man comes behind me being condescending. After speaking with the hostess, she informed us inside seating would require a 45 min wait. We thanked her and went on our way. So never again.

Went there for drinks. Place was really fun and the service was pleasant. The bar was actually quite small and got crowded quickly. The one bartender was also very busy getting drinks for the table service. I would go back for dinner to try that but likely not to the bar.

When you enter in this fashionable place in Houston street, you immediately feel transposed in a very light-hearted enjoyable mood. Nice music, color, smooth reception. While you are at the top of your expectations you start to re_consider the initial positive vibe because in slow motion this is what you are going to experience: fast food menu, fast food service, club music that doesn't allow a normal conversation ( you can scream, you can nod, you can enjoy the music but you won't speak). The smiling, sweet, flower dressed waiter will nod whatever you will say but he won't understand you don't eat spicy, you are hungry, you would like to have your food within 45 minutes from the arrival ( and I will be an over cooked Mac&cheese with extra garlic on top). A part from the food, the noice and the distracted service, everything else was great.
