Beautiful South Bronx waterfront Park about 10 acres in size (and scheduled to double in size by expanding into the lot directly South up to three 145th Street Bridge).
The park had a nice windy path taking you through it and past the tennis courts (16 with 14 covered under a bubble) and the Tennis clubhouse at the historic and landmark old power station building. In 2017 the second floor will house the permanent home of the Bronx Children's Museum.
Such a great place to get away from the concrete jungle but a bit of noisy as the Deegan Expressway aka I87 roars overhead.
There's so much potential to connect the entire waterfront and create a similar system to that of Manhattan's West Side.
I can't give it 5 stars because the tennis court fees are beyond the reach of most local residents therefore it's exudes a huge segment of the population that can't afford it. Instead it's used by many folks from outside the area including from across the river in Manhattan.

Just up along Exterior St. (heading south) visit the BCEQ Pop-Up Wetland designed to use plants to filter and improve the polluted runoff from the highway above. If such were constructed all along (beneath the highway) the Harlem River coastline would be a less toxic place for Bronxites to enjoy. Support an Un-Polluted Harlem River Greenway!

This is a pleasant park on the water. The lawn is beautiful. It was tennis courts. No need to wander back too far because that is just parking, but the rest of the park is beautiful!
