Don't believe any bad reviews, these guys were great! Just used this company to move a 3BR house. They showed up at 830am and didn't stop working until 530pm. Nixon and his crew were awesome - took everything apart and put it back together, mirrors, TVs, pictures, Etc. Price was right and no problems whatsoever. Tip well and they will take care of you!
If you move ask for Nixon & his crew for a great experience on a stressful day.

They were good until i had my property taken out of storage. Beware they told me one price then charged me alot more than was told. MAKE SURE ITS IN WRITING!!! Also damaged merchandise. They must have been flying with the truck. Not careful with property. Would never use them again. A lot of second talk and figures. Confronted him with my request but was denied.

This was by far the worst and most disappointing experience I've had with movers or any business person, for that matter. I had worked with Michael's before but something very bad has happened to this company, no longer straightforward. Movers showed up late, so my wife and I helped them pack some bottles and odds and ends… we had two items damaged in the move… one was an expensive vase. Although they claimed to have insurance, they told the insurance company that we had packed the vase and told us that their policy did not cover the item because we packed it… they moved it, they broke it, but denied coverage with this scam. After many years of working with them, I would never use or recommend Michaels again. No longer a reliable moving firm.

I moved from NJ to NY and they were up to the task. I got a great quote and this was my first experience with movers so I didn't know what to expect. I ended up boxing and wrapping all the furniture myself beforehand because I wasn't sure if they did it or not.

They arrived timely that morning. Michael (?) assessed the job and started rewrapping some of my furniture to really protect it. I did not get charged for that. It was a sweltering 100 degree summer day and the guys worked pretty hard. They were social and I ended up even giving the guys an expensive Boombox Stereo as well as a computer desk I no longer needed as a gift.

The main issue I ran into was when they moved my stuff in, one of my Ikea Malm drawers broke. The wooden piece separating the 2 drawers smashed in half. I showed Michael what happened and was pretty nice about it. I was going to glue the wood back together but he insisted he would replace the piece for me. He even wrote on the receipt that the dresser broke. There were also some nicks on my other dressers but honestly I'm not really fussy. It was Ikea furniture after all.

So a week goes by and no followup on fixing my broken dresser. I made several calls and left several messages and never got a call back. Finally I found Michaels direct cell number and called him on numerous occasions spanning a few months and every time he would just apologize and said his friend was working on it. Well it's a year later now and he still has not come through on his promise nor return my phone calls.

What irks me more is, other than breaking the dresser (accidents happen), I recommended them to a friend shortly after my move. And I had 2 more moves this year with family that I wanted to use them for but I had to go with someone else because Michael didn't come through on his word and I don't like doing business with someone like that.

Lastly, the job did over the quote by $100 but I expected something like that to happen because of the long trip and all. It's a shame they lost out on a lot of my business for such a silly thing. Mover beware.

This company was highly recommended as specialists in moving expensive furniture that needed to be handled very delicately. Furniture was not wrapped in my apartment, and instead wrapped on the truck. It was later discovered that many pieces were not wrapped at all and the others were wrapped very haphazardly. Needless to say, I had several thousands of dollars in damages. Many items are unrepairable and irreplaceable. There method for assessing and/or compensating the damages still remains to be seen. It's been over two weeks and I still haven't had so much as a call from anyone to assess the damages but am continually told, "I will find out what's going on and get back to you". With each passing day my confidence in their desire to see this to an amicable resolution is quickly fading. I will gladly change my review upon a satisfactory resolution but at this point it doesn't seem likely.

***UPDATE***
It has now been almost 3 months. I had one person come to my home and review the damages and heard nothing back. The owner came to my home took, took pictures and some damaged glass shelving that he was going to have replaced, and promised I'd hear back from him. 6 WEEKS and several follow up phone calls later there is still nothing happening. I leave messages and get nothing in return. Looks like there will be no resolution that does not involve legal intervention.

***UPDATE #2***
It has now been almost a year and this has still not been resolved! After 6+ months of constantly requesting insurance information to file a loss claim, I received it. The matter with the insurance company was settled within 6 weeks, excluding my glass shelving because Michael's said they have already replaced it and just have to get it to me. The insurance company sent me their check almost immediately (timeline = 8 months after my move). Now, 3 months later and almost an entire year after my move I am STILL WAITING for my glass shelving and Michael's portion of the reimbursement from Michael's.

BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY. A testament of service is how you handle things when things go wrong. When they do go wrong, this company abandons you and their obligations to you as well.
