Ordered large Margharita pie. It weighed about 8OZ. When I got the pizza box I thought they forgot to put the pie in it. 18$. Sticking with Ferrulli's on Center street.

This place is an embarrassment of an establishment. Had a reservation for 9 people for 7:30 on a regular Saturday night in the summer. Our party was not seated until 8:10. Now I understand some people take longer to eat than others, but when we were seated late, no apologies from the staff, no offer of a comped drink or appetizer, and the only explanation we received was, "we are sorry, we got real busy and had to give away your table". If you were overbooked and give tables away, do not take reservations because that's not how the reservation system works.
Then, as we sat down for the meal, it took 20 minutes for them to take our order. Once appetizers came out, we finished them all, and waited another 10 minutes before our main course orders were even taken. We had asked for refills on our drinks and never received them.
Once main course came out, I ordered the Shrimp Alla Russo dish. My shrimp was well undercooked, mushy, and had to be sent back. My wife's tilapia had a strong fishy odor which is the #1 sign that fish is not fresh. Another person in our party had the most overcooked, mushy, pasta I have ever seen.
One of the wives in our party who is a regular at this established spoke to the manager about our unhappiness with the food and service, which then prompted the owner to come visit our table. From the minute he began speaking, he was extremely rude and disrespectful. His validation for being seated late was "reservations do not mean that you are guaranteed a seat..." "what, you never waited at a restaurant before". Then if that was not bad enough, he claimed, "your shrimp wasn't undercooked, I just ate the whole plate in the back". As he continued to belittle our party, he said we were acting like kids. This was a table full of adults who ranged in age from 28-34.
As if that wasn't enough, he came back again to continue making excuses and defending himself. I then asked him, do you speak to all of your customers like this? He did not care who heard him, his tone in front of other customers, or the way he was acting, because everything from the bad service, uncooked food, and wait for a table was our fault and not the fault of the establishment.
Please do yourself a favor and never dine in or order food from this established. In a town with so many great restaurants on the same street as this one, such as Ralph's Pizzeria and Mama Vittoria, you will be wasting your time at this place. This owner does not believe that the customer is always right and does not know how to work in the food services business. He is a disrespectful, pompous, rude, and arrogant man who will have his establishment close within the upcoming years because of his demeanor towards his clients. He reminded me of how these bosses act of these reality television shows of failing restaurants. As a resident of Nutley for 25 years, you have so many better choices for clean establis
