Although competent physicians, the office staff is very rigid and intimidating. Make sure you know your health benefits (eye care) before entering exam room. Especially well-check-ups.
Check ups were recorded as "diagnosis" therefore forcing a copay when such service should have been free according to my insurance company. It was very, very difficult to have the money refunded even though the insurance company had to intervene on my behalf. In other words, even though I went in for a check up, they "coded" the service as "treatment" not standard care.
After looking through my family's records, every single well-care visit was given a diagnosis and treatment therefore requiring a copay (according to them) when one was never due in the first place.
To give them the benefit of the doubt, One week before my last visit I requested they check my insurance coverage to confirm no co-pay would be required. It was obvious they never called; then charged my husband and I two different amounts for the same check up (same insurance policy). I knew they never called the insurance company because they deferred to our insurance cards and mine was older (not inactive); the coverage was the same as my husband but I never replaced the card that year.
Office staff was extremely arrogant and uncooperative.
