Reviews to Mei Chi Liquor
For Passover, immediately upon entry, they had a lovely variety of approved Kosher-Pesach wines from Israel, France and Italy, reasonably priced for the holiday season. They also carried several kinds of sweet Manischevitz wines people like for seder. I selected 2 from Italy and 1 from Israel. They were so delicious, they made our seder food more delicious. Thank you for providing this variety and choice for your customers! I really appreciated it.

Probably the best selection and prices in the neighbourhood at least with regard to scotch.

I have been shopping at Mei Chi ever since it opened. It has a wide and deep selection of wines and liquors; the choices range from every day beverages to those for special occasions. We've learned over the years that the service is friendly and knowledgeable and deliveries come when they say they would. This is our "go to" wine shop and liquor store.

One of THE worst wine stores in the Park Slope/Prospect Heights area. The staff doesn't know ANYTHING about wine or the products they carry. The selection is terrible. Apparently the person in charge of purchasing doesn't know anything about wine either. It's as if someone blind bought caseloads of wines, without any rhyme or reason, and placed them almost randomly throughout the store. Unless you really know what you're looking for, chances are you won't be happy with the wine you'll get here. There are a few stores in the area, such as "Red, White & Bubbly" and "Prospect Wine Shop", where you can buy almost anything off the shelf and you won't be disappointed. At Mei Chi chances are that you'll be disappointed with almost anything you buy. If that's not enough, on several occasions I bought wine that was spoiled. I've grown tired of returning bottles, particularly that trying to get a refund from them is a nightmare. Also, the atmosphere is crappy and very uninviting. I can't believe that some reviewers gave this store 5 stars. They must be connected with the owners; it doesn't make sense otherwise. The only times I shop there is when I really want wine and it's hard for me to go elsewhere. By now I shop there only once or twice a year at most (and I'm an avid drinker, shop probably 3-4 times a week at the other stores), and every time I go there I swear that I'll never return. Bottom line: Big Thumb's Down. If you can, go elsewhere.
