Mavis Discount Tire

I went to Mavis to buy 2 from tires and they called me to tell me that I desperately needed front and back brakes. I told the technician to just put on my tires and I will go to my own mechanic to check the brakes. I went to my own mechanic a week later and he told me my brakes were fine. I will never trust this shop again to do any work for me

This place is absolutely horrible.!! I went here for a simple NYS inspection which I made an appointment for on their website.

Upon being seen an hour later then my scheduled time despite arriving a half hour early I was in for a rude awakening of the scams that occur at this place.

I was brought into the repair area and was told my car wouldn't pass inspection due to not passing "the visual inspections." I was told I needed two new tires, despite having four new tires installed their just 6 months prior. Additionally I was told my control arm was no good and would need to be replaced and that finally my brakes were no good and would need to be replaced before passing inspection.

This on a car that was just at my personal reliable and trustworthy mechanic a week earlier and having been checked and seen nothing was wrong with it.

Once I told them that this was absolutely absurd and there was nothing wrong with the car they told me regardless I have to pay an inspection price of $65 since it failed. Last I checked NYS Inspection is $37 pass or fail. So I guess the extra $28 was "a tip" for them.

The only tip I have is for anyone looking for an inspection or anything done to their car at all which is to avoid this place at all costs.

The employees are a joke, including the white gentleman who looked to be under the influence when he backed a another persons car out of the stall and scratched their bumper.

ABSOLUTELY HORRENDOUS!!!

I took my car in for service & it has to be left over overnight. When I got my car back, I saw that my tail light was cracked. So before I even get into my car I go back inside to notify them. The General Manager happened to be there & decided to *take care of me*.

He looks at my tail light and seems skeptical. I assure him that it was intact when I left the car in their possession.He tells me that he will review the security footage, and if he sees that the damage was done why they had the car then he'll take care of the damage for me. But if there wasn't any damage done while it was there, then he would send me a DVD of the security footage. I found that to be acceptable, and waited for him to get in contact with me (about 2 weeks).

I never heard back from him, so that's when I started showing up every single week which wasn't easy for me. I've been coming every week for about 3 months and then I just decided to give up because I don't have the time to keep showing up. All I was told was the General Manager isn't it in and they'll let him know.

I even called him on his personal cell phone and left voicemail, and he still didn't get back to me. All I wanted was for the damage to be repaired, or the promised DVD of security footage, either would have been acceptable to me.

I went there to have my car serviced, not have my car miss handled. There is no way I'm EVER coming here again.

I went in to change a tire and asked to see why my steering shakes... they told me that my router and brakes are bad and I should change it and they have a great deal which will cost 200$. So since I didn't have the money to cover all that I didn't do anything. Next time I came I changed that tire and did balancing and everything was driving perfectly with no shake in steering shake. There is more that happened after which is why I would never come back to this place or recommend it to any one . Buyers be aware.
